Hot Water Beach is on the east coast of the Coromandel Peninsula, approximately 12 minutes (8.6km) drive from Hahei. And its name is no exaggeration!

For one to two hours either side of low tide you can dig your own hot pool in the sand where the water temperature can be as hot as 64°C (147°F). So, remember to pack a spade, or hire one when you get there.
